Transfiguration Academy offers a wide range of extra-curricular club activities that allow students to explore their interests and develop their leadership skills – reflecting our philosophy of educating the whole person.
Band (Mr. Aragon) - Band is not just a program, but an exciting class that focuses on performance skills on various band instruments. Students get to show off their skills through in-school and evening concerts throughout the year.
Choir (Mr. Aragon)- The Choir serves on First Fridays and includes students from 4-8th Grade. Hymn selection includes songs which combine Spanish and English like "Pan de Vida". The choir is sometimes accompanied by student musicians.
Drama Club (Mrs. Bontia) - The Drama Club offers students an opportunity to participate in supervised creative dramatic activities including a final production. Students are exposed to different aspects of theater including impromptu skits, vocal music, dance, costume design, set design, props, and tech crew. The club works on creative thinking skills, encourages teamwork, and provides students with enriched learning experiences in the area of performing arts.Previous productions include: Beauty and the Beast, Alice in Wonderland, Mulan, Aladdin and High School Musical .
This year's production will be The Wizard of Oz . The play will be held on May 17 and May 18, 2019 at the Bergenfield High School auditorium .
Future Cities Competition (Ms. Walker) - The Annual National Engineers Week Foundation's Future City Competition, for sixth, seventh and eighth grade students, is held from September through February. The Future City Competition is a program of the National Engineers Week Foundation ( NEWF ), a consortium of professional and technical societies and major U.S. corporations. Science Fair (Mrs. Bontia) - The science fair at Transfiguration Academy is unlike any other science fair. In this science fair students will present an array of different experiments and presentations in relation to several different scientific topics. Students can choose to create either an experiment or a science display as their science fair entry.
