So for tomorrow March 23rd, please complete the assignments due by end of day tomorrow and any past due assignments. 

Starting hopefully on Tuesday, we will be meeting online together.  I will let everyone know the times.  However, I will be only posting assignments as we move from day to day.  This is mainly because some of you were doing assignments out of order.  Also this will mirror our usual day to day school routine. Okay, talk soon!  Miss you all very much :(

 

ASSIGNMENTS FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 16th 2020

5th

  • Complete IXL Section G Forces and Motion
  • Complete page 2 of Chapter 13 packet (students already have this) and submit answers in Google Classroom
  • Read Chapter 13 Lesson 4 on Simple and Complex Machines; take notes and submit notes in Google Classroom. Notes should cover Simple machines: Pulley, Wheel and Axle, Lever and Inclined Plane, as well as discuss Complex machines.
  • Answer question #1 on page 427, #1 on page 429, and #1 and 3 on page 431. Submit answers in Google Classroom.
  • Social Studies Link: See page 427 #2.  Use the internet to do the research.  Submit completed paragraphs in Google Classroom.
    EXTRA CREDIT OPTION: If you wish, you may present this as a video of yourself talking about what you learned.  Be creative and PLEASE DO NOT READ!!  And remember, you still have to give us the sources!
  • Complete the Scaffolded questions for Chapter 13 Lesson 4 (handout given and also in Google Classroom).  Submit answers in Google Classroom.
  • Page 434-435: Read and complete questions #1-3 on page 435. Then complete page 4 of packet (Math – Gravity, Work and Power).  Submit all answers in Google Classroom.
  • Read page 440 on the life of Isaac Newton. Make a sequence chart of his life with his major achievements. Then write a 2-3 paragraph essay on why Newton should be considered one of history’s greatest scientists.  Submit the sequence chart and your essay in Google Classroom.
    EXTRA CREDIT OPTION: You may present this in the form of a skit/video like a news show. One person is newscaster and the other is the biographer or historian who knows all about Isaac Newton. Remember though, you still have to give your sources at the end and NO READING!!

  • Complete IXL Section O Cells
  • Go to Glencoelevelred on the web and search for Chapter 16 Virtual Lab on Cells.  Follow the instructions for the lab and complete the required data collection, and answer all journal questions.  Follow the format posted in Google Classroom for the lab report and submit in Google Classroom.
  • Read pages 498 – 500 and take notes. Submit in Google Classroom.
  • Answer questions #1, 2 and 3 on page 500 and submit in Google Classroom.
  • Complete the top of page 1 of Chapter 17 Packet (Section 1) and then page 8 of packet.  Submit in Google Classroom.
  • Complete the Symmetry Worksheet and submit answers in Google Classroom.
  • Read pages 501 – 505 and take notes. Submit in Google Classroom.
  • Watch the Video posted in Google Classroom on Sponges. Then complete the worksheet based on the video. Submit in Google Classroom.
  • Complete page 1 and top of page 2 of packet (Section 2). Submit in Google Classroom.
  • Complete page 4 of packet - Section 1&2 Crossword. Submit in Google Classroom.

        -   Complete the Research assignment posted in Google Classroom: Ways that help prevent cancerous
            cells from forming.  Submit research in paragraph form or in the form a video (infomercial) and
            ensure the following questions are also answered: Can cancer be prevented completely? Are there
            vaccinations against cancer? Extra credit will be given if a video is created.

       -   Go to Glencoelevelblue and complete the Virtual Lab for Chapter 20: Work, Force and Distance. 
           Submit all required information as posted for lab report in Google Classroom. 
       -   ASSIGNMENT CHANGE: Instead of completing the softschools quizzes posted in Google Classroom,                 please complete the Work and Power worksheet uploaded to Google Classroom.
