I am no longer posting homework on this site.
I know it has been confusing and by now most of
you are on google classroom. I have sent the codes,
but if you are missing one, please email me.
Going forward, Please submit all work to the appropriate
subject on Google Classroom. So - Math to Math, Reading to
Reading, Art - to the Art teacher, etc.
ANY PAST DUE WORK FROM WEEKS 1 AND 2 THAT IS
NOT SUBMITTED BY FRIDAY - WILL REMAIN A 0.
You have now had Three weeks to complete the work.
I had not been taking points off, but it is not fair to the students
who have submitted everything on a timely basis.
This has been very stressful for everyone so I have been
lenient in the grading so far. But again, for the students who
are doing their work daily and submitting it - it really is not fair.
Also - please be sure to submit All work that is posted on
Google classroom for this week by Friday. Book report
is due Friday.
Thank you -
Saturday, March 28th -
I hope and pray everyone is keeping well.
We are on google classroom now. We have had 2 Reading classes
and will have a Math class on Monday. I would like to have a class
each day for the different subject areas. Is 9AM a good time for most
of you?? Please let me know.
Both Science and LA packets that I had xeroxed a couple of weeks
did not go home to everyone last week. In place of those assignments,
I have posted a different assignment for Science - on tornadoes - it is under
Wednesday - Science - Tornadoes. I have starred the section and seperated it.
The LA piece is a formal letter described on google classroom in LA.
Again, please submit all work. There a just a few people that I am missing a
great deal of work from.
Wednesday, March 25th - 9 more months till Santa visits again!
I hope everyone enjoyed their meeting this morning.
Another meeting tomorrow at 10AM. I have emailed the code to
each parent. The girls were given the code this morning (or I emailed)
I also emailed the Spanish code for google classroom.
Please sign onto google classroom for EACH subject. I have been
and will be posting on google classroom.
Also, I have spent a good deal of time trying to track homework down.
I appreciate all the heroic efforts made this week.
Unfortunatley, there are still a few assignments that I am missing...
Starting next week - any work that I did not receive by this Friday -
will just receive a 0. Please check Power School. Several students
have already submitted work for this week, they have grades, and
the assignments are posted.
I do understand parents are working and this is only adding to
your work load. But we must give assignments, collect them,
and grade them. I am hoping and praying we will be back in
school VERY soon.
Stay well everyone!
Thank you for submitting work parents!
I look forward to our 1 google meets this morning.
I have posted some IXL work in REading and LA -

I HAVE RECEIVED WORK FROM MANY OF YOU, BUT NOT ALL.
IF I DO NOT RECEIVE WORK IN EACH SUBJECT FROM THE WEEK OF
MARCH 16 -20, 2020, I WILL NOT BE ABLE TO MARK YOU PRESENT.
I HAVE BEEN GRADING THE WORK THAT HAS BEEN HANDED IN.
I did try to email the packet I had put together, but I am hearing
from some parents that it is not coming through. I hope to be
able to remedy this - I'll keep you posted.
PLEASE POST WORK FROM WEEK OF MARCH 13 - 20 IN
GOOGLE CLASSROOM. THANK YOU -
Just a few websites from Lilith!!
More to come!!
Also I just spoke to Mr. Carlo and he is working
on our achieving an online interactive program.
Please do not stress about the work. I do need to
collect it so that I can grade it and mark each student
present for the day. I would appreciate getting it at
least weekly or biweekly if someone is able to drop it
off. Any notebook work, can just be cut out of the notebook, stapled
and dropped off. Any workbook pages can be scanned and emailed
if at all possible. Any future work , it may be easier to just do on loose leaf.
I apologize for the confusion - I was warned, but I really never expected it to
reach this point.
As for IXL - please try to achieve 80 - 85%. I was told that some students are
stressing over making it to that 100% mark. Do your best - at least 80%, but
Tuesday, March 17th - Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone!!
I miss all my students and hope that each of them - and each of their family members
are staying safe and strong! Eat well, get some sun ( when it's out lol!) - and get a good
Some ideas for next week:
I have posted work in google classroom. Much of the work is there. You may need to refer to
this page for some additional detail.
Instead of a research report in Social Studies - pretend you are a journalist covering the corona
virus. What important fact would you include? How would you present your report - very serious -
or with a little bit of humor? Remeber - laughter is the best medicine!
If you do both - there's extra credit in ther for you!!
Some science ideas - when the sun is out, you can draw your shadow at approximately 9AM,
12 noon and about 3 o4 PM. Times may be adjusted. After the first drawing of your shadow in the morning -
create a hypothesis about how long - or short - you shadow will be at noon and then towards 3 or 4 o'clock.
Give reasons for your hypothesis - based on what we know - about the earth rotating - and when the sun is strongest. Then test your hypothesis - by measuring at noon and 4ish. Were your shadows longer or shorter?
Was your hypothesis correct or not. Most importantly - what did you learn about shadows and the earth's
rotation from this exercise. This will be graded (as will more experiments) - so get ready to have some fun
all you 4th Grade Scientists
Stay strong - "This too shall pass" !!
All the work must be completed by the end of the week.
This could be a scedule for Monday, March 23rd
Science/Math - Go on your computer and find the temperatures for 3 different countries, in 3 different parts of the word, for example Iceland, Argentina, Japan. Look for the 10 day forecast, take down the numbers for the 10 days and divide by 10 to get an average for each country. Then compare the averages, taking into account the different parts of the world each country is in. Determine whether it is spring or fall in each country based
the rotation of the earth.
Language Arts - write a short story - 3 paragraphs - about the weather in your favoritve of the 3 countries - and why - (you like cold weather Iceland - you like warmer weather - Argentina - you like moderate weather - Japan)
I will grade the above 2 assignments for both Science and Math - (an easy grade) as well as Language Arts.
Reading - for book report
Tuesday - Science/Math - Choose a location - anywhere you would like - write down the temperature from 6AM to 6PM - for that location for today - Tuesday, March 24th. Make a line graph - remember the times will be at the bottom of the graph and the temperatures on the side. Plot the temperature at 6AM, 7AM etc and draw a line showing the rise in temperature throughout the day (or if you're up in the Artic - who knows - it could become colder - you're the scientist!!) -
Reading - Book Report
*********Wednesday -Science - The United States has the highest tornado rate of any other country. Australia, New Zealand, Italy and the United Kingdom also have tornadoes. Tornadoes can occur as far north as Stockholm and Sweden - locate all these places on a golbe or world map. Answer the following questions: Is the danger of being in a tornado widespread? What does this say about the need to study weather and share our findings about it? Should countries learn about weather all over the planet and share this information? What would the advantages be in sharing such information?***********
Language Arts - Imagine that you live in a state that has tornadoes. Tennessee had a tornado a couple of weeks ago. Or that you live in another country that has tornadoes - whether the weather is cold there - or theweather is hot. Write a short 2 paragraph story about what is was like for you to be near a tornado.
