The Annual National Engineers Week Foundation's Future City Competition, for sixth, seventh and eighth grade students, is held from September through February.  The Future City Competition is a program of the National Engineers Week Foundation ( NEWF ), a consortium of professional and technical societies and major U.S. corporations.

In New Jersey each year, over 240 students, from both parochial and public schools, enter over 150 future cities for judging.  From the approximately 80 teams make it to the NJ Regional finals.  The teams are judged on four separate projects over a 5 month period: two research essays, computer designed simulated city, the actual working model of the city, oral presentations and Q&A session given to and judged by engineers from the American Society of Civil Engineers and private engineering firms.

Transfiguration Academy has entered this competition since its inception in New Jersey and we are proud to say that we have placed in the top 10 for 3 consecutive years and 5 times in the past six years.
